December Meeting: Compliance Issues for Employers to Consider Moving into 2021

  • Hospitality Human Resource Association Virtual USA (map)

We will be hosting a Zoom meeting this month.

Even setting aside the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 was a busy year for changes to Colorado employment law. And, new requirements related to equal pay and sick leave become effective starting January 1, 2021. This presentation reviews new Colorado employment laws effective in 2020, such as COMPS Order #36, Colorado-focused employment laws going into effect on January 1, 2021, such as the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and portions of the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act, and practical action items for employers to consider to ensure their workplace is compliant with Colorado law.

Join HHRA this month as we hear from Nathan Schacht with Baker Hostetler.

Nate Schacht concentrates his practice on employment litigation, class and collective action litigation, labor relations, and employment law counseling. Nate brings a business-oriented and creative approach to counseling and litigation in complex labor and employment issues. He advises employers in all areas of employment law, including wage and hour issues; issues concerning the Family Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and related laws; unfair competition; discrimination and harassment claims; class actions; grievance arbitrations; and employment issues related to mergers and acquisitions. Nate also leads the Denver office’s Labor and Employment group and serves as the co-chair of the Denver office’s Inclusiveness and Diversity Committee.
